Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) president has come out to warn upcoming musician Isaac Opoka alias EeZzy not to redo his trending song, Tumbiza Sound.
This comes just hours after a meeting between EeZzy, ministry of health and Uganda Communication Commission that resulted into an agreement that requires EeZzy to redo the song, this time round adding message that encourages Ugandans to follow Covid-19 rules and regulations.
"I've just gotten the news that the ministry of health has asked or ordered Ezzy to redo the song and share with them to approve the content. As a president, I am so against this and I strongly advise you Ezzy do not dare Re do that song! Unless they pay you more than 30m" tweeted Ykee Benda.
Benda, who seemed rather angry at the move by the government, went on to say that the government won't appreciate what it means to create art if it doesn't cost them.
"This disrespect to the art industry has to stop. #RespectArtInUganda. If they want, let them ban it... It's too late it's already the biggest song in December and that won't change! DO NOT RE DO #TumbizzaSound." read the last part of Benda's tweet.
