Musician Ziza Bafana has come out to state that if his fellow musician Bebe Cool knew the basics of music and was really talented in that field, he would never have opted for Politics over Music.
According to Ziza Bafana, the profession of being a musician is way more rewarding than the profession of being a politician as long as you know how to earn well from it, something that defeated Bebe Cool. While Speaking in an interview on Galaxy FM, Bafana aired out his views, giving the following analysis.
“If Bebe Cool really knew the basics and he knew how to hit notes with his music, I swear he would never have joined politics. This, I can assure you,” Ziza Bafana
Bafana believes that Bebe Cool was put under a lot of pressure to make quick money, something that saw him joining active politics and he is now seen earning under the ruling regime. Bafana believes that this is not where Bebe Cool should be as a musician given his early goals when he joined the music industry.
When asked whom he believes diverted Bebe Cool from his music career to join politics, Bafana stated that it is what everyone expects of Bebe Cool as a musician that forced him to join active politics to the point of neglecting his music.
Bafana stated that when it comes to the music industry, everyone has something they expect from you but sometimes these expectations are too big they could weigh an artiste down.
“It is simply everyone and their expectations. Everyone has a certain picture they paint of musicians in their heads, stating that they should have certain things or be able to do certain things. He was demanded a house, people demanded for a wedding ceremony from him and so he had to take the quicker means to earn the money to do all this. The quickest happened to be politics.
According to Ziza Bafana, Bebe Cool now diverted from his earlier goals which were to make Ugandan music international as he traveled to many Countries like Nairobi before in a bid to raise the Ugandan flag high. When it comes to politics, he is not even doing anything to raise his Country's flag.
Having been named as one of the big three musicians in the Country, Bebe Cool has always held his place among big musicians in the industry. Where do Bafana's statements place him however and how will he react to this?
