Recently, producer Washington dug his own grave when he came out and claimed that Music producers in Uganda were being mistreated by musicians in Uganda. According to Washington, it was quite unfortunate to see musicians prospering and enjoying profits from their songs while music producers, who were key to the success of the song were just onlookers.
According to Producer Washington, music producers believe that they deserve a bigger cut on the earnings of every song that they have worked on, yet all they receive is small payment unlike in International Countries where music producers keep earning from a song they have aided in producing.
While speaking to the press, Producer Washington was angry as he hurled insults at Ugandan Musicians, stating that they earn from the songs but also go ahead to get free money from people. Producer Washington stated that it is quite unfair to see musicians make a lot of earnings from the songs that they have worked on with their producers yet the producers are nowhere to be seen immediately after the release of the song.
Washington was quick to call musicians empty tins that only know how to make noise, which they bring to the studio and producers dedicate their time and talent to turn that noise into the music that Music fans enjoy and listen to.
Music lovers have been perturbed by the said statements as they came out to state that there are musicians that they have heard performing live and they sound just as beautiful as they do in studio. Many have told off Producer Washington, calling him disrespectful towards the musicians as he had the worst choice of words while speaking of musicians. Music fans believe that without musicians, even producers would not exist because there would be no use for the beats they produce .
This has also stirred a harsh debate between musicians and song producers as musicians did not appreciate the insults hurled at them by Washington, saying he could have chosen a better way to phrase his statements without being disrespectful to musicians.
Musicians also have quite a lot to say about producers, after all they never gave them the beats they have made for their songs of charge. During an interview with Galaxy TV, Music duo Hatim and Dokey were asked about their opinion regarding the words Producer Washington used to describe them.
The pair concluded that Producer Washington should just be pardoned by musicians given that he said all those words in a state of depression.
“Producer Washington is just depressed. He has a small case of depression and he should be pardoned for his choice of words.” They stated.
