Earlier today while addressing the media, assistant Inspector of police Maj. Gen. Tumusiime Katsigazi informed the public of the new guidelnes that are going to regualte noise pollution in urban areas. According to him, some people have made it a habit to distort peace of others through nose pollution and that this has to stop.
"From today, we have instructed the DPCs and RPCs to arrest whoever breaks the noise pollution law. People have been warned to have noise levels especially while in public and anyone who fails to comply is going to be arrested." he said.
The law has also not spared the religious preachers plus places of worship. "Let the places of worship of wprship operate within the noise levels, that's what I'm saying. I'm not telling any churches to stop." Gen. Tumusiime added.
This comes a month after former RCC of Kampala Hudu Hussein had come out to chase all street preachers from the roads, weeks after chasing awaythe roadside vendors. Hussein was later transferred to Yumbe, which caused a social media outburst through which the online community came out mocking hm.
Is this move by the police part of Hudu's answered prayers? Will it be effective anywaya? AreUgandans bothered by the "noise" or "the police is just doing its assigned duties?"
