Living the American dream has been cut short for so many people ever since the President of the United States of America John Donald Trump came out and demanded the immediate deportation of all immigrants living in the USA without proper documentation.
It has affected very many immigrants from various states among whom is our very own veteran Musician Kigenyi Amos, famously known as General Mega Dee.
Mega Dee, like many Ugandans left Uganda and flew out to look for greener pastures. When he settled in the United States of America, he turned into an entreprenuer as he founded the Kind Love Healthcare Agency which is based in the US.
With the new regulations set by the President however, Mega Dee has declared that he is set to return home due to the harsh deportation conditionalities that were declared by the American president.
The veteran musician took to social media via his Facebook account and announced that he is coming home any time soonest.
According to intel, the United States Immigrants and Customs Enforcement is carrying out raids across the state including states like Houston and Galveston. It is also stated that the US have arrested over one thousand people who are all considered undocumented migrants.
Several operations were also said to have been carried out by federal officials in South Florida leading to the arrest of undocumented immigrants in Broward county. As operations are still ongoing, some immigrants have seen it wise to return home by their own will.
Mega Dee did not reveal when he will be flying back to Uganda but many Ugandans online have wished him well and have even welcomed him back home, saying deportation is not the end of the World.
Netizens are overwhelmed with the ongoing events and Ugandans in particular are concerned about the impact all the policies that are being enacted in USA have on Uganda as a country. Curreny, immigrants who went to USA with the hope of living the American dream are currently in hiding for fear of arrest.
Reports also say that many Ugandans living in the city of Massachusetts are also in hiding. Many have also stopped taking their children to school and have stopped going to work because of the fear of deportation.
The Ugandan government however has not released an official statement regarding the deportation of Ugandans living as immigrants in the USA.
