While St. Marys College Kitende might play their 12th final, one thing is certain that there will be a first time finalist come saturday 20th/5/2023. The Uganda Secondary Schools’ Sports Association (USSSA) boys’ U20 football championship will come to an end on Saturday at Nyakashura School in Fortportal. The higly competitive tournament has seen some shock exits, and new "giants" emerging, Buddo SS and Kibuli SSS being the quarter final victims.

11 times champions Kibuli lost 3-1 to an in-form Amus College, where the former didn't put a convincing dispplay that later led to the Amus boys punishing them. Amus' goals came from Jimmy Muber, Allan Oyirwoth and John Brian Otim while Davis Busuulwa's header served as Kibuli's consolation. Buddo SS, who've won the tournament twice couldn't go past a spirited Mityana based Royal Giant who scored just after 2 minutes through Annest Ankunda and managed to hold on to that 1-0 lead until the final whistle.

Another new Semi-Finalist, St.Henry's College Kitovu saw off West Ville College by 1-0 while the 'big dawgs' of St. Mary's Kitende battled it out with common rivals in a match that ended 2-1 in favor of Kitende. "A derby always remains a derby. We thought this was to be an easier game but we sweated until the last minute." Said Kitende's head coach Mr. Male Dan after the match.

The semi-finals are to be played today, 19th/5/2023 and as of now, the first semi final between St. Henrys Kitovu and Royal Giants Mityana is done and Kitovu has emerged victorious after a dramatic penalty shoot out. The game ended 1-1 after extra time and Kitovu won on penalties 6-5. SHACK now awaits the winner between Kitende and Amus College, whose match is currently underway.
