    • December 22, 2021 • 3 years ago

Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Rt. Rev Steven Kazimba Mugalu today called upon all stake holders to join hands in fighting the vice of land grabbing which has been one of main crimes of the year.

"Land grabbing has increased and it's so rampant these days.  I pray the lord helps us in the coming year and we overcome it.

Bishop Kazimba also talked about corruption which has seen many of government funds go into the wrong hands this delayed progress. Gender based violence in homes has also been on a rise this year and Bishop Kazimba condemned it as well.

"Men are constantly beating their wives in silence but there women who are also inflicting pain to their partners but go unnoticed because 'men can't report such cases of being beaten by a woman. ', we condemn such acts." Added the archbishop.

2021 has also seen a lot of political violence and loss of lives, destruction of property and severe injuries have been some of the results. This too has been a highlight of the archbishop's speech and he called upon law enforcers to see to it that such acts of violence don't get repeated come 2022.
