Bebe Cool is not Fit to Make Any Music List This Year - Chameleone
    • December 7, 2020 • 4 years ago

Legendary Ugandan musician Jose Chamelone has come out to say that his fellow singer Mose Ssali alias Bebe Cool is not fit to make a list of best performing Ugandan musicians of 2020.

Citing Bebe Cool's faded nature this year in a recent television interview, Chameleone said that the Wire Wire hit maker does not have a single hit song on the charts this whole 2020.

Trying to recall what Bebe Cool sang this year, the only song Chameleone remembered was the Corona song of Bebe introduced by a mention of a telephone number at the start, mbu "zero munaana ssatu hmm".

Chameleone further praised himself by saying atleast he has done some good work musicially speaking in 2020 especially in regards to his hit song "Baliwa" which means "Where were they" when translated to English from Luganda.

Origin of the famous Bebe Cool Lists
Bebe Cool for the past 3 years has been releasing lists on his social media of musicians in Uganda that have done well according to him the previous year.

This was after he rejected to be placed in any Ugandan awards because of their biased nature and unfairness according to him hence deciding to make his own awards through his own lists.

So far he has come up with three music lists, all of which he releases early in the month of January just shortly after the start of the new year.

In 2018 Jan, is when he released the first list that became viral and was heavily criticised by the big artists of then such as Mowzey Radio who claimed Bebe does not have a proper sense of identifying good music and that it is his problem that he doesn't listen to good music produced by the Radio and Weasel fraternity.

Radio said all that because him and Weasel were not included anywhere on the 2018 list.

The 2018 list included best performers like Ykee Benda, Bebe Cool himself, Fik Fameica a fresh talent by then and other musicians whose music was on point in 2017, the previous year.

Snubbing the big two artistes, Bobi Wine and Chameleone
In that first list , he neither included Bobi Wine or Chamelone who are part of the big three trio of musicians in Uganda that is (Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine and Chameleone) but in the 2019 list after thorough consideration, he included Chameleone for his Mateeka song and Bobi Wine for his massive Kyarenga song.

In 2020, Bebe also made another list again at the same time that is in January and the most disappointed musician this time was King Saha who was included on the list but with a word "Warning" in brackets.

Saha took the Warning so serious that he started beef immediately with Bebe Cool calling him all sorts of names and thereafter even sang a song titled "Ssala Puleelsa" that became an instant success.
