Big Eye Starboss eyeing the Nansana Municipality Parliamentary seat.

    in summary
Ibrahim Mayanja, also known as Big Eye Star boss has come out and openly expressed interest for the Nansana Municipality Parliamentary seat in the upcoming 2026 elections.

The list of musicians joining politics is steadily growing, something that has got a few music fans worried.

Music fans have come out to argue that many musicians upon joining politics tend to neglect their music careers and totally merge into the political sphere, something that has their fans a little if not very disappointed.

With many music lovers giving an example of Musician turned Politician Bobi Wine, they have argued that politics could sometimes mark the end of a musician's musical journey.

Musician Ibrahim Mayanja, also known as Big Eye Star boss seems unfazed by all this however as he has come out and openly expressed interest for the Nansana Municipality Parliamentary seat  in the upcoming 2026 elections.

“The voice of the people is the voice of God. When my president Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) speaks, it is a command. Nansana Municipality, your dedicated servant for the 2026-2031 term is here. Together we will build a stronger future,” Big Eye posted on his X account.

The musician made this announcement on Wednesday with a statement. He shared a poster indicating his interest in the Nansana Municipality seat. According to the poster, Big Eye is meant to come under the National Unity Platform ticket.

Big Eye , who tried merging into politics under the ruling party, National Resistance Movement was harshly unwelcome by voters as many had issues with the ruling party. This also tarnished his reputation as a musician with many music lovers only showing favor to musicians backed up by the  NUP party.

This saw Big Eye shifting his base as he went on to swear allegiance to NUP, having failed with NRM. When this happened, even his music career was revamped. When asked why he had fallen out with the ruling party, he claimed that he was not paid a whooping  Shs 270 million for his campaign performances.

His entry into the race sets up a potential threat to the incumbent MP, Hannington Wakayima who seems to be interested in being re elected. Wakayima was elected in 2021 on the NUP ticket. Many netizens are therefore wondering which candidate NUP Will endorse to become their flag bearer.

And with many stating that Big Eye should instead focus on his music since he just got his shine back, we are unsure how this whole race is going to turn out.

What do you think about this? In your opinion, will Big Eye be able to win this race?
