Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, National Unity Platform president in a series of posts on social media claimed he had been detained at the Dubai Airport.
Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobiwine further reveals that he was grilled for over eight hours after his phone and passport were confiscated on arrival.
"Landed in Dubai at 8:30pm. It’s now 5am. I’ve been held & interrogated for 8hrs. They asked me about NUP, it's leaders, their phone numbers, my family members & their contacts! I have all necessary travel docs. They’ve confiscated my passport & my phone. Am literary under arrest." Bobi tweeted!
Its said that immigration in Dubai was suspicious of Bobiwine's intentions in their land. Although he is there for a performance, the authorities feared that he was there for a political rally! At the time of filing this story, Bobiwine was set free and confirmed this through his twitter!
Bobi wine is in United Arab Emirates for a show aimed at raising awareness and assist the many Ugandan and African Immigrant workers that are stuck in those states. Its however believed that there was government interference into his move to proceed with these concerts!
