The Chief of Defense Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba won himself popularity when he posted controversial tweets on his X account, threatening the lives of not one but two key political figure heads.
The General stated that he planned to behead National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine. He stated that the only reason as to why he had not done this yet was his father.
Muhoozi further stated on the same platform that he would hang Dr. Kizza Besigye by the neck. For this specific threat, he even added a date, showing his certainty.
Many netizens reacted to this and it also caught the attention of many Members of Parliament who suggested that the General be summoned to explain his controversial tweets.
This angered General Muhoozi who therefore stated that he would never heed to this summoning. He even stated that rather than being summoned, he would rather arrest all the Members of Parliament summoning him.
It was not only General Muhoozi that was angered however because even a section of members of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) came out and criticized these particular members of parliament, stating that they were allegedly trying to assassinate the Uganda Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
It was confirmed that these people were meant to hold protests in Kampala after General Muhoozi Kainerugaba was summoned by members of parliament, stating that it is unfair for such a patriot to be treated like that over certain messages they were sure he did not even orchastrate!
After the said summon caught the attention of Patriotic League of Uganda Secretary General Daudi Kabanda, he mentioned that they were not about to swallow such disrespect hence he revealed that they were going to hold protests.
When this suggestion was cited by the General in question, he fired up the PLU and boosted their courage, showing them the kind of positivity a leader should. He also was meant to be with them in their planned peaceful protest.
Unfortunately However, the said protests did not take the kind of effect that was earlier on anticipated and they ended prematurely after the General himself Muhoozi Kainerugaba failed to show up to the protests he had earlier on encouraged.
Netizens have perceived this differently as many have mentioned that it was unfair for General Muhoozi not to show up for a peaceful Protest that was staged to preserve his dignity.
