2020 continues to be a great year for long distance runner and record breaker Joshua Cheptegei 24, as he got shortlisted for the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) best athlete of the year award.
The annual event which was meant to be held early I'm April but later postponed after the president banned public gatherings due to Covid_19, will take place on Wednesday 18th/November/2020.
Cheptegei will battle against Uganda Cranes striker Emma Okwi and fellow female athlete Halima Nakaayi. The event this year will be held at Kampala Serena hotel instead of the former venue, Imperial Royale Hotel.
"It is with mixed emotions that we can confirm that the annual USPA gala will go ahead this year." Said USPA president Patrick Kanyomozi during the awards launch on Wednesday.
