A Kampala city lawyer named Ronnie Mukisa was shot dead by unknown assailants at his residence in Kitiko Birongo, Ndejje Division, Makindye Sabagabo, Wakiso District.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night, and the police confirmed the incident on Wednesday.
Eyewitness statements suggest that an unidentified individual shot at Mukisa before momentarily withdrawing, only to return and shoot him multiple times at close range in the head.
Preliminary information reveals that Mukisa often returned home late, and on the night of the incident, he arrived at the apartment parking lot around 23:00 hrs.
After parking his vehicle, he proceeded to close the gate, and it was during his return to the apartment that neighbors heard gunshots.
The assailant quickly fled the scene on a waiting motorcycle, and the direction of their escape remains unknown. The police were alerted to the incident, and a team was dispatched to the scene. Canine units were also involved in the investigation, but the trail was lost along the way.
Mukisa's body has been retrieved and taken to the city mortuary for postmortem examination.
