Confusion as public transport resumes at full capacity
    • January 3, 2022 • 3 years ago

Among the things the president  allowed to operate fully during his end of year speech on the 31st/December/2021 was public transport. Taxis, buses, costas and other public transport automobiles had been carrying 50% capacity as a directive of the president in the move to combart the spread of Covid-19.

In his address, the president allowed all public transport to resume carrying full capacity, provided they followed the SOPs, which include ensuring wearing of masks for both the passengers and the drier, having full vaccination cards and sanitizing.

However, there has been confusion on some roads today, when police officials were arresting taxi drivers for carryin full capacity, as this was yet to be allowed by the president. Passengers were seen being told to board off several taxis, as the drivers scuffled with the confused afandes.

Among other things, the police officers were also seen arresting passengers who had no vaccination cards, stating that these are subjected to fines, as earlier stated in the president's address on the 31st of last month. Passengers were also seen fighting with the operators about the price fares that remain high even when the number of passengers was restored to full capacity.

What was the situation in your hood? Did you have get stopped by the police for not having a vaccination card or mask, were the transport fares lowered or it as business as usual?
