After two months without a substantively appointed person in the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) office in Masaka, today - the city has a new RCC in Hudu Hussein.
Hudu's deployment in Masaka was confirmed by Yunus Kakande, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry for Presidency.
"Yes ite true that Hudu has been transferred from Lwengo to Masaka City to fill the vacancy that was created following the suspension of our officer from duty" kakande said!
Prior to Masaka, Hudu served as RCC for Lwengo district since November 2022. He had previously served in same position in Yumbe and Kampala City.
It should be noted that former Masaka RCC Ronald Katende was suspended by Presidency Minister Hon. Milly Babalanda over failure to execute the presidential directive on land evictions.
As a result, his Deputy Ahmed Kateregga then took over as acting RCC, however with Hudu's coming to Masaka, Kateregga will resume his duties as Deputy RCC.
On the other hand, Katende who had earlier been suspended was found innocent of the clams put to him after thorough investigations and will soon be redeployed somewhere else.
