Court orders security to vacate Kyagulanyi's residence
    • January 25, 2021 • 4 years ago

News reaching our desk is that the High Court has of today 25th/January/2021 ordered the army and all security detail guarding the residence of former presidential candidate and National Unity Platform (NUP) Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu in Magere.

Kyagulanyi who came second in the recently concluded presidential election has been under ‘house arrest’ since voting day, and security officials kept refuting the claims, stating that the security at Kyagulanyi’s residence is there to avail him protection.

The court has alsocondemned the confinement of Kyagulanyi and his Wife Barbie Itungo saying it’s illegal. However, the order has been received with mixed feelings from Ugandans, some stating it’s just a blinding trick, since the same order was given to free Kiiza Besigye in 2016 but the security team never left his home.

This comes just hours to NRM’s liberation day, 26th January which is tomorrow. Should we say Kyagulanyi is being liberated????
