“My big brother Nobert Mao is the most brilliant opposition leader in Uganda today. He has presidential skills” are the words the commander of the UPDF Land forces Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba used while he praising opposition politician Nobert Mao.
Muhoozi who also doubles as the first son made the remarks about the Democratic Party (DP) president via his official twitter handle @mkainerugaba on Thursday morning. Amongst the many opposition political party leaders, Mao has been the most accused for being a mole for the ruling NRM government within them and with these remarks by Muhoozi, many netizens came up with conclusions that his time of camouflaging as an apposition member is getting done because seniors in NRM are appreciating him. By the time of filing this report, Mao has not replied to the tweet however much many are awaiting his response on the matter.
Mao who has been the President of the green color themed opposition political party since 2010 has contested against Muhoozi’s father President Museveni twice during the 2011 and 2021 general elections.
