Having inspired Uganda Cranes to the 2019 AFCON championships and getting knocked out at the round of 16, former Cranes head coach Sebastian Desabre is rumored to have re-applied for the now vaccant position again.
The French international who is currently head coach of DR Congo was, during his tenure at the Cranes viewed by many fans and critics as one who had mastered the art of attacking/entertaining football and many actually preferred him to Micho.
Desabre's return as head coach wouldn't be the first, given that Micho's recent spell was his second as Cranes Head Coach. The latter mutually agreed to step down earlier this month, having failed to lead the National Tema to the AFCON championship, which among others was a top priority.
The application for the head coach position closed on Friday, the 22nd of September and as per FUFA's release, about 245 applications were received, out of which only 10 were Ugandan applicants as seen in the breakdown below;
Head coach 245 (2 Ugandans)
Assistant coach 34 (2 Ugandans)
Strength and Conditioning 24 (5 Ugandans)
Goalkeeping Coach 7 (1 Ugandan)
