Frank Gashumba comes face to face with son in-law Rickman, delivers strong message to daughter.
    • February 7, 2023 • 2 years ago

Last year, Frank Gashumba was trending because of a leaked voice note of a phone call between him and his close friend as he discussed his daughter’s love life behind her back. Many came out to label him a hypocrite as he acted happy in front of his daughter, making it seem like all was well but behind her back, he was criticizing her terrible dating decisions, claiming she only chose the wrong kind of men and ended up feeding them rather than gaining from them.

In the audio, he talked about his meeting with his current son-in-law, claiming that he was a good for nothing parasite and a kony look alike. Well, things have not been smooth between father and daughter ever since those audios leaked but they still had to come together as Sheila launched her new online store, Gash Luxe.

Frank Gashumba and his daughter's boyfriend, Rickman Manrick, met again on Sunday as the daughter launched her new retail store which is located on Clement Hill in Kampala. In pictures shared on social media, Rickman appears to be talking to Gashumba judging by the body language.

Netizens did not expect him to be friendly with the same man he called a parasite not so long ago hence the surprise was evident on many people’s  faces. Speaking at the event, Gashumba gave a powerful speech, saying he learnt a lot in the previous year as it ended. He also gave off the fact that he was most likely not to attend the grand opening but he received so many phone calls asking of his whereabouts, which prompted him to appear.

"I tested this life last year, December, and I think I learnt a lot. There is life you guys live... Actually, I've been in my bed and I've received over 50 phone calls, why are you not here?” He said

He went on to say that he was not planning on moving out of his home because he needs as much rest as he can get after all he is preparing for a new government i.e. that of the first son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

"Because I'm an old person and we're preparing for the next government [referring to Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s presidential ambitions]. So, you have to rest. By the time we take over the government, we know what we're going to do." He said

He also made it clear to his daughter that she has potential to do more than just run a store. He mentioned that he highly believed in her and her potential and hence she was not allowed to stop until she achieves everything he and the entire World expects of her.

"This is too small for you, I know your potential, I know what you can be... Don't celebrate that you opened up a store; I know what you can be and what the world expects from you.” He said.
