The UEFA Champions League, the biggest men's football competition on the European continent delivered yet another dramatic climax as the the clubs faced off on match day3 on the group stage round on Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th October.
The highlight of the Tuesday evening was Manchester United, who were playing against Danish side FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford. United went into the match as the bottom side of group A, having lost their first two matches against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray respectively.
The Red Devils are currently under fire from their fans across the globe due to their not so interesting style of play and performance. The team's coach Erik Ten Hag too is facing the wrath from fans and pundits who are still asking for the "Ten Hag Ball" as was highly expected from the bald Dutchman.
As it has been in the rest of United's games, this too started with a low tempo and little to zero excitment from a team fighting not to get eliminated from the tournament. The match went on till second half and it looked like it was a dead end, until HARRY MAGUIRE.... stepped up in the 72nd minute of the game.
The English defender headed home Christian Eriksen's cross to beat the Copenhagen keeper and put the hosts infront in the 72nd minute. United did hold their lead, despite the constant attacks from Copenhgen players.
In the 97th minute of the game, United's keeper Andre Onana saved a penalty that saw United walk away with three points and also having the last laugh alongside Harry Maguire. Onana has been under serious criticism since his debut for the club and him making a last minute penalty save and keeping a clean sheet meant everything to him.
United is now third in the group A standing with only 3 points, behind Bayern Munich and Galatasaray who have nine and four points respectively. Copenhagen is now at the bottom of the group with only one point after the three matches.
Onana and Maguire's performance on Tuesday earned the two spots in the UEFA's Team of The Week.
