Everyday that passes, Ebola Virus disease cases continue to surge something that has raised concern from authorities!

According to a brief on Wednesday by Dr Jane Ruth Aceng, Ebola had killed 30 out of the 109 infected persons within 35 days.

"The penetration of Ebola in heavily populated areas creates a situation of rapid spread and its associated with sustained and protracted person to person transmission" she said!

She added that Urban Ebola transmission is complex and the government will do all it takes to ensure the control of transmission in the urban settings.

As worries continue about Ebola spread in the land, the minister called out citizens to take serious the precautions, wash their hands, sanitize and put on masks if they can so as to prevent it aswell as the possibility of having a lockdown as a solution to this problem.

In the same regard, state Minister for Trade Ms Harriet Ntabazi also summoned traders in Kampala for a meeting next week to explore more options in the wake of the surging Ebola cases.

The meeting will seek to discuss the next course of action ahead of the expected frenzied Christmas and and new Year festive shopping.

Although the public is in deep fear of a lockdown, Dr Chris Baryomunsi, the information Minister confirmed that although the Cabinet discussed the Ebola situation in the country during its Monday Meeting, there was no reference to a lockdown!
