High COVID-19 Fear Following Rapid Flu and Cough wave in Uganda!
    • May 8, 2023 • 2 years ago

Although the World Health Organization (WHO) declassified COVID-19 last week - the current wave of flue and cough in Uganda is linked to the pandemic, according to Health Experts!

The ongoing intense cough, flue and fever has seen several families see their loved ones bedridden for days with a remarkable number loosing their voices.

Most cases of this development are children who have failed to respond to medication previously effective against the three diseases, and some have had to be admitted to hospital and placed on Oxygen Machines.

The Ministry of Health says they are finalizing their assessments into this matter and linkege to COVID-19 to fully determine the actual driver and they will officially communicate to the public in due course.

The rising cases of these airway diseases, reported in towns and villages alike, dovetail with news from Mulago National Referral Hospital from where 2 patients had presented with severe Covid-19 illness over the past fortnight.

A case study at one of the Health Centres - Kisugu Health Centre in Kampala, administrators there intimated to this publication that seven out of 10 patients they are currently receiving at the facility present with flue and cough.

As a result, an Uptake in Sales of Covidex - a herbal remedy that National Drug Authority approved as a Covid-19 supporting treatment have been noted as many people are running to it for prevention.

Covid-19, killed more than 3600 people in Uganda from 2020 and millions globally.
