    In a grand vigil ceremony held at the National Theatre, Honorable Paul Kato Lubwama (RIP) was honored for his outstanding contributions to the arts and entertainment industry. 

    The event brought together esteemed guests, fellow artists, and government officials to celebrate the illustrious career and remarkable achievements of the renowned Ugandan entertainer and politician.

    As the curtains rose on the prestigious event, the audience erupted in sorrow for Hon. Paul Kato Lubwama, fondly known as Kato Lubwama, who while living played an instrumental role in shaping Uganda's cultural landscape. 

    The entire Monday was dedicated to recognizing his lifelong dedication, remarkable talent, and relentless efforts in the world of arts.

    Kato Lubwama, with his infectious humor, unique comedic style, and unmatched stage presence, has captivated audiences for decades. From his early days as a comedian to his successful transition into politics as a member of parliament, he has remained a beloved figure, leaving an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and public service.

    The National Theatre, a symbol of artistic excellence in Uganda, provided the perfect backdrop for honoring Kato Lubwama's remarkable journey. The venue was adorned with elaborate decorations and displays showcasing his achievements, while a montage of his memorable performances played on screens, evoking nostalgia and appreciation among the attendees.

    In their eulogy speeches, Kato Lubwama's friends, fans and family expressed their gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon him. 

    Many attributed his success to the unwavering support of his fans, colleagues, and mentors who played pivotal roles in shaping his career. They emphasized the power of laughter and the importance of art in bringing joy and unity to society.

    The event also featured captivating performances by renowned artists paying tribute to Kato Lubwama. Musicians, dancers, and fellow comedians took to the stage, showcasing their talents and honoring the legacy of a true icon. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, applause, and a deep sense of appreciation for the honoree's contributions - in addition to sorrows.

    Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, the Prime Minister of Uganda who represented the President at the ceremony commended Kato Lubwama for his remarkable achievements and for being an inspiration to aspiring artists. 

    She acknowledged his tireless efforts in promoting Ugandan culture and preserving the country's rich artistic heritage.

    The celebration at the National Theatre not only honored Hon. Paul Kato Lubwama but also served as a reminder of the importance of recognizing and supporting the arts. 

    The event highlighted the significant impact that artists can have on society and underscored the need to nurture and preserve Uganda's vibrant cultural scene.

    As the day concluded, the crowd rose to their feet, applauding and expressing their heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Paul Kato Lubwama. The honor bestowed upon him at the National Theatre will forever be remembered as a testament to his exceptional contributions to the arts and his enduring legacy in Uganda's entertainment landscape.

    The vigil will continue all night long to morning when his body will be taken to Nkozi where he will be buried on Wednesday.
