Popular Ugandan musician, Pallaso lost his Facebook page to hackers last week and up to today, he has failed to recover it.
The page which had over 800,000 followers many of whom are Ugandan was taken down by the alleged hackers last week after they requested Facebook to delete it.
Today in an interview, the Malamu hit maker said he has tried to recover the page although it seems like it was deleted for real given the little research him and his team have made so far
How the page was hacked
Pallaso says, it all started in a series of Facebook messages where men he believes are of Pakistani origin reached out to him via his inbox.
He says the men came with all sorts of sweet words trying to convince him about how they are going to give him some money in order to push their products.
The men wanted to use his page to advertise their products and its from here that they told him to like several of their pages ("Fake ones") but little did he know that he was shooting himself in the foot.
Slowly by slowly Pallaso realised the page was getting weird notifications from Facebook warning him of potential take downs and before he could get back to the Pakistani men, bwe swiiiiii, the page was long gone.
How did Pallaso fall in this trap
The singer says it's the lockdown poverty that led him here. He said if this was the normal times without Corona virus, nothing close to this would have happened
Before Corona, I did not have time for such things. These things like replying every ka message on Facebook, I had no time for them because I used to be so busy performing at various shows where I was booked at...Pallaso
He further said, having been locked down for two years, his only source of income has been through online endorsements from various companies and thought this was another opportunity, only to be hacked.
