As rounds of apprehension continue roaming in the streets of those in Authority that are culprits in the Karamoja Iron Sheets Scandle - latest to join in is Hon. Agnes Nandutu, State Minister for Karamoja Affairs.
According to reports, Nandutu has been detained at Kira Division Police Station after she handed herself in to the CID headquarters at Kibuli, Kampala on Tuesday morning for questioning over theft of iron sheets and abuse of office.
She had previously failed to show up for further questioning, raising prospects that police would hunt down and arrest her.
Upon handing herself over to CID, She was she was assigned detectives to take her statement.
"Nanduutu's action of presenting herself has saved Police time and resources and it is worth emulating when in similar circumstances" said the deputy police spokesperson, CP Polly Namaye.
Nandutu becomes third ministeto be held in the same scandal following her superior Dr Mary Gorettu Kitutu and Amos Lugoloobi!
At least more than 20 ministers and about 35 legislators across the country are facing the heat over the Karamoja irons sheets, with government struggling to save face over the scandal.
