What started as a mere rumor has since become a normality, everyday that passes, Ugandans keep believing that First Son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is being crafted for Presidency!
Although many don't want to believe the talk, a section does and explains why given various happenings that when analysed well, they justify the talk.
Controversial social critic Frank Gashumba is among those that believe Muhoozi will lead this country. "For as long as Muhoozi is still alive, he will one day become President!" Gashumba said appearing on Barometer, a local political show on NBS Television on Tuesday evening.
To back his rant, Gashumba reminisced of a speech made by President Museveni during his swearing in ceremony last year when he openly said that this political term and the future is one for the children of the bush war fighters to take over power and positions of influence.
This explains why in Museveni’s cabinet and recent past reshuffles within Government Ministries, agencies and departments, many people appointed are as a result of reward from the President.
With this background, Gashumba wondered why Ugandans think Museveni will let sons and daughters of his colleagues from the bush take over positions of power and let his son lag behind.
He said while Museveni is directly positioning children of his colleagues, he's saving his son for the best of all positions and that's Presidency!
Although Gashumba faced alot of hitbacks on the show mostly from another panelist, Hon. Muwanga Kivumbi, he continued to make his point clear.
Kivumbu described Gashumba as someone on duty to promote the Muhoozi agenda with hopes that he will soon be closer to power. Kivumbi wondered how a man like Frank Gashumba who ran an NGO dubbed "Sissimuka Uganda" loosely translated as "Awaken Uganda" out of the blue turned sides and now supports the weird acts of Museveni and his son!
"So Mr Gashumba, at this point is Uganda awake like your organization rhymed" Kivumbi asked Gashumba!
As Muhoozi's talk for presidency preparation keeps making headlines every now and then, the big question that remains is, will Uganda ever move its power from the military rulers to the civilians again? Thats a question to be answered soon!
