Kampala businessman and socialite Nasser Nduhukire, also known as Don Nasser, faces trial in the High Court over allegations of drugging and sexually abusing a minor. The case, presented before Buganda Road Magistrate's Court yesterday, implicates Nduhukire and his co-accused, Promise Ateete, in the exploitation of a teenager.
According to the prosecution, the victim, a former student of Kabojja International School, had returned to Uganda from Qatar in April 2024 to retake her International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) exams. She initially stayed with her paternal aunt in Naguru but disappeared on May 3, prompting her family to raise concerns.
Investigations revealed that Ateete, described as a former lover turned friend of Nduhukire, lured the victim away. Evidence presented in court indicates that Ateete used both a mobile phone number and Snapchat to communicate with the victim. The pair reportedly met at Aura Bar along Acacia Avenue, where Ateete introduced the minor to Nduhukire, who allegedly gave her Shs800,000.
The prosecution alleges that Nduhukire, Ateete, and the victim later went to Tagore Living Apartments on Kayunga Road. At the location, Nduhukire is accused of providing the victim with cocaine and facilitating her abuse. Ateete reportedly left the victim with Nduhukire and another woman known only as Sheena.
Court documents indicate that the victim was subjected to an HIV test before being given more drugs. The abuse reportedly took place under circumstances that highlight manipulation and exploitation.
Presiding Magistrate Sanula Nambozo committed Nduhukire and Ateete to the High Court for trial. Both face charges of aggravated trafficking in children and defilement under Uganda’s Penal Code Act, CAP 120.
Authorities emphasize the gravity of the case, highlighting the need for vigilance in protecting minors from abuse. This trial serves as a reminder of the critical importance of safeguarding children and reporting suspicious activities to law enforcement.
The State has pledged to ensure justice for the victim and to use the case to raise awareness about the dangers of child exploitation, drug abuse, and trafficking. The public is encouraged to play an active role in fighting such vices to protect vulnerable individuals in society.
