Nakawa magistrates court through magistrate Neumbe Ritah Kidasa has finally granted bail to Joseph Kabuleta.
Kabuleeta was arrested from his party, National Economic Empowerment Party offices over sectarianism charges made through statements likely to cause disaffectionate hostility or raise discontent and ill feelings among the Bahima, Banyarwanda and Banyankore.
Although he denied charges before court, 50 year old Kabuleta was taken to remand at Luzira prison since November 30.
Upon grant of bail, Kabuleta was asked to pay 2 million cash, his bail sureties, NEED party General secretary Asaman Odoka, Nakawa East MP Ronald Balimwezo and Victor Ayebazibwe were each ordered to sign a court bond of Ugshs. 20 million to ensure that Kabuleta returns to court whenever required.
According to Uganda Police, Kabuleeta's arrest was as a result of snubbing initial summons requiring him to report to Kampala Metropolitan Police headquarters for an Interview and statement on the charges.
