Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club has registered arguably their worst start to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season in a long time, having gone FOUR consecutive league games without a win. The Kasasiro boys are currently 15th on the table with zero points.
The poor start to the season forced the club to part ways with Portuguese coach Sergio Traguil, in a public statement released by the club on Tuesday 24th/10/2023. According to the statement, Traguil had some urgent 'family' issues he had to attend to and thus his contract termination with the club.
The mantle was then handed to first team coach Jackson Magera Kaddu, who will act as interim coach until the club finds a permanent replacement for Traguil. Magera faces his first task later toady as KCCA is facing off against in-form NEC FC at the MTN Omondi stadium - Lugogo at 6:30pm.
The match is a must win for the Kasasiro boys, if the club is to convince both the management and diehard fans that they're still as strong as believed. According to Magera, he still trusts the boys and is confident KCCA will return to winning ways, starting with the game against 4th placed NEC FC
"We have to get into our game against NEC well prepared and get the result wanted of us. NEC is a fantastic team with technical people, but we shall not look into them but concentrate on our players." Said coach Magera during a press conference - https://youtu.be/X9vGMN6u_g0?si=BgvzeUrJrdZ5WGCc
Magera further added that while the KCCA FC's ship seems to be sinking, having positive results will be the only way to return on top. "The main target is to see how the club can get out of that situation, and we're trying as much as we can to see that the players get well mentally, physically and tactically,"
He also highlighted the need to re-organize the boys to get acclimatized with the situation and play well to get the much needed results.
