Hon. Agnes Nandutu is today expected to be appear before the High Court Anti-Corruption Division for hearing of her bail application in which she is seeking to be released from Prison.
Nandutu was remanded after spending close to a fortnight on remand at Luzira Prison - State Minister For Karamoja Affairs ded to Luzira Prison on April 19, 2023 after being charged with dealing with property in connection to the Karamoja Iron Sheets saga!
The minister intends to table various grounds on which she seeks bail some of which include it being her constitutional right, being a law abiding citizen, being a known patient for a critical disease that needs special care, having a young family and elderly parents who all depend on her among other grounds.
Among the sureties Nandutu is set to line up include Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga, State Minister for National Guidance, Bulambuli District Legislator Hon. Isaac Katenya and Elgon North MP Gerald Nangooli.
Nandutu is among the three ministers who have so far been arraigned before the courts of law in Connection with the controversial Karamoja Iron sheets saga.
The others are Ms Mary Goretti Kitutu (Karamoja Affairs) and Amos Lugoloobi (State Minister for Finance, Planning, and Economic Development).
All three ministers have been to Luzira prison.
