National Unity Platform (NUP) president and former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu has today withdrawn his election petition. The Musician turned politician had taken to the high to express his dissatisfaction in the recently concluded elections, claiming they were filled with violence and cheating.
However, Kyagulanyi has been having challenges with cases, which include his affidavits being rejected due to time, his recent request to have three judges off the nine judges handling his case scrapped off, including the chief judge, Justice Alfonso Owinyi Dolo.
The reason for Kyagulanyi's withdrawal of the case is that he claims the court I not independent and that he's going to go to the people to decide what next. This comes days after footage was released showing some of the judges in the case leaving the state house, which is against the law.
