Westham United are to face Liverpool this weekend at the Olympic stadium in London. Liverpool's last outing in the premier league was a defeat to Everton (2-0) in the Mersey side derby which caused them to suffer a huge setback in their title race providing Manchester city and Arsenal with an upper hand. Westham United were also thumped 5-2 in their last outing to Crystal Palace. The Hammers have one win, one draw and four losses against Liverpool in their last six matches.
Liverpool have some injured players like Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantra, Ben Doak, Conor Bradley and Diogo Jota leaving Jurgen Klopp with a decent squad to choose from in one of his last away matches as the Liverpool manager. This means Diogo Jota's scoring abilities will be missed with the Portuguese international scoring 10 goals for Liverpool in the Premier league this season. However, Liverpool still have hope in Mohammed Salah who is the club's top scorer in the premier league with 17 goals followed by Darwin Nunez with 11 goals.
Westham also have injured players like Nayef Aguerd, George Earthy and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
Liverpool fans will be hoping to come back stronger against Westham with Jurgen Klopp's encouraging statement at the Post match interview after Liverpool's game against Everton.
This was one of the statements made by Jurgen Klopp;
Westham is probably waiting and rubbing there hands hoping that we come there on a leg but we will try absolutely everything to make sure that we are much more ourselves than we were tonight.
In order for Liverpool to keep their title hopes alive and for Jurgen Klopp to get a fairy tale ending to his time as manger of Liverpool, they will have to play the remaining matches at their very best and hope for both Arsenal and Manchester City to slip-up in their remaining matches.
With Jurgen Klopp set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, the club have been in search of a new manager who is going to fill the gap left by Jurgen Klopp. The rumours stating that Arne Slot is the top contender for this position. Arne Slot is currently the manager of Eredivise club Feyenoord which he led to a league title in 2016/17 and 2022/23 seasons. He has also won some individual awards as the Feyenoord manager. He was heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur back in May 2023 but decided to stay at Feyenoord where he extended his contract till mid 2026. Liverpool seem to be in talks with Feyenoord to secure the 45 year old Arne Slot as Jurgen Klopp's successor at Liverpool.
