Over the weekend, the legendary Alex Ndawula was laid to rest at his ancestral village in Lwengo district. However, no artist attended the burial according to Capital FM's Lucky Mbabazi. The most shocking part about this is there was a huge mass upon the discovery of his death. Many artistes converged and mourned his death.
Lucky Mbabazi rushed to her Twitter to criticise these people who were able to post messages after the death of the famous radio personality and yet there was no artiste willing to pass by the burrial grounds to stand with the bereaved family. According to her, the was the worst case of betrayal and disloyalty displayed by the Ugandan artistes.
As he spoke about the musicians ignoring the burial, MC Kats explained that Ugandan artists are selfish and disloyal. He mentioned that they are only available during the good times but never available during the bad times. He said musicians only relate to media personalities when they need them to play their songs. If one loses the platform, he is abandoned and ignored.
MC Kats mentioned that now that The late Ndawula was not of help to the musicians and he could not play their songs in the World of the deceased, they felt that they nolonger needed him and hence choosing to ignore his burrial ceremony.
"I have worked with musicians and I have come to know they only want you when you have a platform. I was abandoned by many I thought were my friends when I went off TV for some time," he said during the After 5 show on Monday.
Some musicians however have come out to assert that they attended the burrial and a clear example of these is Crysto Panda. Upon Lucky Mbabazi posting about how musicians had failed to turn up for the burrial of the Late Ndawula, Crysto Panda rushed to defend himself, mentioning that he was at the burrial.
Some musicians have however claimed that the late Ndawula never attended burials while he was alive and therefore artists saw the need to pay the favor back to him hence the reason he was abandoned in his final moments.
