On Sunday afternoon, Land forces commander Luitenant General Muhoozi Kainerugaba was overwhelmingly welcome in Busoga.
Muhoozi moved there to preside of the opening ceremony of the CECAFA senior Women's Challenge Cup at Kakindu stadium in Jinja. The championship set to run between June 1st and 11th at FUFA Technical Center in Njeru will see players from countries like Djibouti, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan among other countries.
Upon arrival in the area, it was history repeating itself as Muhoozi was hugely welcomed by thousands of his fans like it happened in other areas he has visited in the recent past.
The ceremony organized by Team Muhoozi headed by Toyota, real names Michael Nuwagira was one of the many events where Muhoozi, who also doubles as the first son and Presidential Adviser in charge of Special Operations showed support for the sports.
During his major birthday celebration event at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Muhoozi urged government to put more emphasis on Sports and the Arts. He explained that the above sectors are in the interest of the many youths who make the biggest number of the population and investing more in them would curb a big portion of unemployment in these youths.
