Members of Parliament have voted yes to internet tax.
Last month, the minister of Finance discussed new taxes that would be introduced including taxes on internet, vehicles and minerals.
In this new tax, OTT would be scrapped off but internet would be charged 15% each time one purchases.
However, they voted NO to the vehicle taxes that were to be introduced.
These taxes required one to pay 100,000 Uganda shillings for owning a private car.
Many were scared they would be charged for the many cars that they own as most MPs own more than one car.
Many Ugandans are disappointed in their MPs who they voted with the belief that they were going to implement laws that would improve their lives.
Some believe even these opposition MPs who make noise and promise to be the change become different and selfish when they enter parliament.
Last year, government spent 190 million taxpayer's money to pay for OTT and internet purchases for Members of Parliament
