Masaka RDC attributes killings to people's failure to observe curfew rules
    • August 30, 2021 • 4 years ago

By end of yesterday, the death toll in greater Masaka had reached 25 people. The infamous 'bijambiya' killings have left people in the region in terror, for the cold blooded murderers leve the names of those they're killing next pinned in trading centres.

As the opposition Members of Parliament are pressuring the government to work out a solution to curb the killings, yesterday Masaka city RDC Fred Bamwine gave his views on what he thinks is causing the killings in the region.

According to Mr. Bamwine, people's failure to adhere to curfew guidelines is the cause. "I have been enforcing curfew guidelines in the area, and if only people could adhere and be in their homes by 7pm, maybe the killings wouldn't be as many as they're." said Mr. Bamwine.

Now, if you're still wondering what this story means, almost 85% of the killings have happened past curfew time and people killed were found inside their homes.

The recent killing of an 80year old doctor, residents requested for the president to remove curfew so they can be able to defend themselves, since the security personel has failed according to them.
