Released less than two weeks ago, Ronald Mayinja's controversial song, 'Mzee' which talks about the good thing done by the NRM regime over the years, has been in the media since its release. First, it caused havoc when it got selected as the official campaign song for Museveni, now it's in another money scandal.
Media lab entebbe, an independent media house founded by like minded journalism students of Nkumba through their lawyers (Walusimbi and Co. Advocates) are to sue Mayinja over a footage in his Mzee song.
"You infringed on our client’s copyright on 30th October 2020 or thereabouts when you used out client’s images, footage and other artistic work depicting the recently commissioned Kitooro Market at Entebbe in the trending video of you campaign titled “Mzee” without our client’s consent.” Reads part of the letter issued to Mayinja.
The letter goes on to request Mayinja to pay UGx375m, pull down the video from YouTube and write an apology in a period of one week upon reception of the letter. Failure to do so, Mayinja risks being sued for everything he is worth.
Looks like someone's going to be calling out 'muzeeyiiii' again!
