Last year, celebrated Ugandan MC Edwin Katamba alias MC Kats came out publicly and announced that he's HIV positive, which to many came as a big shock much as it had been rumored for a long time.
That road however has not been an easy one especially for his family and friends but he stomached it in and made a brave move a few days ago when he decided to spearheaded a campaign to end stigma against HIV/AIDS.
Katamba’s new journey is an edutainment campaign to eradicate stigmatizing people living with HIV in the public and this revelation was made at Serena during a dialogue last Wednesday.
The NBS After 5 presenter will be encouraging the youths to use protection and constantly go for check-ups among other preventive measures.
He's going be working closely with the Uganda Network on Law, Ethics and HIV/AIDS (UGANET), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), The AIDS Support Organization (TASO), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA).
