Uganda has launched the 9th Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2025 and the "Tell Your Story Explore Uganda" campaign to boost tourism. Set for May 21-24, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, the expo will showcase Ugandas attractions, promote investment opportunities, and highlight MICE tourism. The campaign encourages Ugandans to share their travel experiences, fostering domestic tourism.

The Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA), in collaboration with its agencies and Talent Africa Group, has officially launched the 9th edition of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) 2025 along with the "Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda" campaign. The highly anticipated tourism and trade exhibition is scheduled to take place from May 21 to 24, 2025, at the state-of-the-art Speke Resort and Convention Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala.

Under the theme "Tourism and Sustainable Transformation," POATE 2025 aims to bring together key stakeholders in the tourism sector, including international buyers, investors, tour operators, and media professionals. The expo is designed to highlight Uganda’s vast and diverse tourism offerings while strengthening the country’s global presence as a leading travel destination.

In addition to the expo, the "Tell Your Story – Explore Uganda" campaign seeks to engage Ugandans in promoting domestic tourism by encouraging them to share their most memorable travel experiences. This initiative invites citizens to submit videos, photos, and written narratives showcasing Uganda’s rich landscapes, wildlife, and cultural heritage. By amplifying personal experiences, the campaign aims to inspire both locals and international visitors to explore the beauty of Uganda.

Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo-POATE, an annual flagship event, continues to solidify Uganda’s position in the international tourism market. The 2025 edition is expected to attract 70 selected international buyers, over 5,000 trade visitors, and a wide array of exhibitors from various regions across the globe. The expo serves as a valuable platform for Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Consumer (B2C) networking, fostering new business collaborations and unlocking investment opportunities in the tourism sector.

This year’s event will also focus on the growing importance of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, which has become a key trend in the global travel industry. Participants can look forward to an exciting lineup of activities, including destination marketing presentations, expert-led panel discussions, media engagement sessions, and captivating cultural showcases.

With a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation, Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2025 seeks to promote meaningful partnerships between policymakers, private sector players, and tourism stakeholders. The expo is expected to drive growth within Uganda’s tourism industry, positioning the country as a must-visit destination for global travelers.

As Uganda prepares for Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo 2025, tourism industry players and stakeholders are encouraged to seize this opportunity to discover new business prospects, expand their networks, and showcase Uganda’s unparalleled tourism potential to the world.
