President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni finally commented on the ongoing controversial resolution by the European Union MPs to halt the construction of the East African crude oil pipeline citing biodiversity and Human Rights violations!
In his speech during the 7th Uganda International Oil and Gas Summit at the Kampala Serena Conference Centre, Museveni termed the EU MP’s as as a group of young girls that cannot lecture him on matters concerning Ugandan Oil.
“When you go to this Parliament, these are just young girls” Museveni said. “You are lecturing me on what to do in Uganda? You young Girls?” an angry Museveni further questioned shortly before adding that some of these people in European Union are soo shallow, egocentric and wrong but they think they know everything and keep broadcasting their ignorance allover the place!
“This is the wrong battleground for them, we don’t take kindly to arrogance” He said. The EastAfrican Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) at completion will be transport oil produced from Uganda’s Lake Albert oil fields to the port of Tanga in Tanzania where the oil will then be sold to other world markets.
With all this in play however, President Museveni re-affirms that the pipeline construction will proceed despite European Union's Resolution! The big question however is, will this come pass? Lets watch the space!
