Western Ugandan Musician Omega 256 seems unready to let fellow western Ugandan musician Ray G shine after staging her concert on the exact day he set his.
Omega 256 took to her social media platforms to announce her upcoming show in Ishaka on May 10th at 7o7 Safaris. This is way after Ray G announced his concert in Kampala at Lugogo Cricket Oval on the same day. Her announcement did not go unnoticed as many people have come out to call her wicked for doing such a thing to a fellow musician instead of supporting him.
For a while now, Ray G has been advertising his upcoming concert on all social media platforms so it would be quite unrealistic for someone to say they never knew that he had staged a concert on the 10th of May. This has led netizens and Ray G fans to the conclusion that Omega 256 is just intentionally doing this to pull at Ray G's strings and ignite another beef with him.
A section of netizens however is concluding that this is Omega 256’s message of retaliation after Ray G came out and recognized musicians in Western Uganda, leaving her out of the list. Ray G stated that Western Uganda has very many wonderful and talented musicians and he went on to mention a few of them but he left Omega out on his list.
This is when a few people started questioning whether he had omitted her intentionally and whether he thought her untalented. Well, right bow the Western Uganda’s music scene is on fire because of this current revelation
This act by Omega 256 has ignited reactions from fans, with many expressing disappointment and frustration at her decision to stage her show on the same day as Ray G’s highly anticipated event. The worst disappointment according to netizens is the fact that the pair both come from the West so they should be more united considering there are very few musicians from there.
Netizens have therefore resorted to labeling Omega as “selfish” and “jealous” considering the fact that Ray G has made it further than she has. Surprisingly, Ray G and Omega 256 have collaborated on a song together dubbed “Oli Wakabi.” So it is only right for netizens to assume they are on good terms yet they always seem to find themselves against each other.
Some netizens however see no issue with this considering that the shows are miles apart, one being in Kampala and another in Ishaka. What are your thoughts on this?
