With the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease in the country, there were fears of a lockdown from the public domain!
The fears were further fueled by President Museveni’s move to strike a lockdown on the people of Mubende and other areas where the spread was rampant.
Contrary to this public fear, President Musveni finally came out to clear the nation by saying there will be no lockdown!
"Regarding the Ebola situation, there will be no lockdown. Therefore, people should go ahead and concentrate on their work without worry" he said.
The President however cautioned the public to be more vigilant and observe the SOP's put in place to control the spread of the disease.
"Just wave, Dont shake hands. Avoid human contact" he said in that regard.
It should be noted that unlike Covid19, Ebola is not soo serious. The first case of Ebola was reported on September 19 with the fatality ratio so far is 38% and 48 out of 131 cases succumbing to the disease as of November 4th 2022!
