We almost thought the story of Pastor Tom Sembera would be the last of this kind that we would ever hear about but am guessing we were quite wrong. It seems like famous men of God are making it a habit to exploit their media teams and not pay them a dime.
Today, we have heard of famous Kampala pastor Jackson Ssenyonga who has been exposed for not paying his employees for close to a year. Ssenyonga has been accused of not paying his media workers on Top Radio, Kampala FM, Mubende Fm, and Top Television as well for months now.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time this gentleman has been exposed by the media for not paying his employees as the same happened several times in the previous years but he did nothing to change his tactics. After a year of no pay, Top Media group workers have broken the silence by exposing their boss and branding him a not so pure man of God.
After hearing about the unfortunate exploitation, journalist Gabriel Buule jumped on the same issue and tagged the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) requesting them to remove the operating license from Pastor Ssenyonga. According to Buule, these journalists haven’t been paid for close to a year now and they are struggling to make ends meet in this struggling economy.
“Hello @UCC_Official, you issued a license to Ps. Ssenyonga who runs Top TV and Radio but he has made it a tendency not to pay journalists & it is now months. @URAuganda kindly pick interest because none of his workers pay VAT cc @nssfug. #PayJournalistsUg,” Gabriel Buule tweeted.
