The Uganda Police has released an official statement on how it arrested 800 Ugandans last week who participated in the riots over the arrest of Robert Kyangulanyi, presidential candidate representing the National Unity Platform.
Most of the arrests happened in major towns and cities in Uganda.
Majority of the Ugandans were injured and others killed during the riots and this got the attention of the Human Rights Commission of Uganda who released a statement warning the police to handle Ugandans with care and to use with less tear gas and bullets that caused more harm.
Those who were arrested have been released on bail in various districts.
