Prime Minister Nabbanja Robinah praised Dr. Kenneth Omona, the state minister for northern Uganda for his impactful leadership during a vibrant homecoming and thanksgiving event held in Gulu district

Prime Minister Nabbanja’s address resonated deeply with the attendees, especially when she detailed the affirmative action programs specifically tailored for Northern Uganda.
The Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF) initiatives, along with the Development Initiative for Northern Uganda (DINU), have been pivotal in addressing the socio-economic disparities caused by decades of conflict.
“NUSAF 4, which is soon to be rolled out, will continue to focus on critical areas such as infrastructure, health, and education,” Nabbanja highlighted.
“These programs are designed to empower the people of Northern Uganda and provide them with the resources they need to rebuild their lives.”
State Minister for Ministy of education and sports, Peter Ogwang also took the stage to emphasize the importance of educational initiatives in the region.
“Investing in education is investing in the future of Northern Uganda. We are committed to improving educational facilities and ensuring that every child has access to quality education,” Ogwang remarked.
Local MPs echoed these sentiments, pledging their support to Dr. Omona’s efforts and the government’s programs.
“We stand united with Dr. Omona and the government’s initiatives. Our focus is on creating sustainable development that benefits every citizen of Northern Uganda,” said one of the area MPs.
The Acholi Paramount Chief, Rwot Onen Achana II, provided a cultural perspective, stressing the importance of community and tradition in the healing and development process.
“Our cultural heritage is our strength. As we move forward with development, we must also preserve and cherish our traditions,” he said.
Dr. Kenneth Omona, visibly moved by the overwhelming support, reiterated his commitment to the people of Northern Uganda. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but remained optimistic about the region's potential.
“Together, we can overcome any adversity. My role is to serve you and to ensure that Northern Uganda thrives,” Dr. Omona stated passionately.
