Ugandan musician, Ronald Mayinja has come out to sensitize people about the meaning of the word "local".
Through an interview on Urban TV a few days ago, Mayinja asserted that he is not contented with people who call him a local artist.
He however accepted that he is a local artist but not in the way people mean it. He says guys normally see local people in a negative way, where people see him as someone who is backward in terms of behaviour and thinking.
Ronald gave an example of American musician, "Nicki Minaj" who is also local in her country of origin, United States of America and that she is not international over there as people here in Uganda may want to think.
Mayinja finally added that Ugandans who normally accuse band musicians like him of being uneducated are now the same Ugandans who have failed to understand the simple English word "local".
