Salah was substituted before halftime of their draw against Ghana on Thursday night after he being injuried with an hamstring.

“The x-rays that Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team, underwent, showed that he suffered a strain in the posterior muscle,” an Egyptian Football Association statement read.“And he will miss the team’s next two matches in the African Nations against Cape Verde, and then the round of 16 match in the event of qualification.”
The Pharaohs take the second position in the group after their two draws against Mozambique and Ghana which were intense as they face the on form Cape Verde on Monday, 22nd of January as they only need an automatic win to enable reach the group stages.
