As the cases for the new Omicron variant continue shooting up, and Ugandans flock the villages for the festive season, many concerned parties have expressed fear of another outbreak of cases if no action is taken.
This has prompted the minister of ICT, hon Chris Baryomunsi to inform the public that the health ministry has given mandate to a number of public places such as schools, hospitals, churches to deny access to any one seeking entrance and they're not vaccinated.
"The minister of health has given mandate to such places of gathering to deny access to those entering when they're not vaccinated. One must show a vaccinated card if they're to access such places. " said the minister while addressing journalists at the Uganda Media Center.
This comes at a time when reports came from Fortportal that showed officials stopping travelers from Kampala from entering the city unless they presented their vaccination cards. Many were also seen being forcefully vaccinated against their own will.
Is forced vaccination the way to go come 2022 if we're to fully reopen or it's going to be 'vibes on vibes?'
