On Thursday, May 30, a number of individuals graduated from the Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre. Notably were celebrated singer Juliana Kanyomozi and legendary actor Dr.Sam Bagenda.
It should be recalled that in 2010, veteran singer and film director, Mariam Ndagire established the Mariam Ndagire Film and Performing Arts Centre (MNFPAC) with the zeal to elevate Uganda’s entertainment industry through nurturing dedicated, honest, and disciplined artists.
On May 30, the institution witnessed its third graduation, and a number of qualified film & performing artists left with their qualifications in hand.
Numerous representatives from the institute and the entertainment sector attended the award ceremony, which was held at Bat Valley Theatre,in Kampala.
Addressing the media shortly after the graduation, the "Nabikoowa" hit maker extended her gratitude for receiving her graduation transcript from a woman she has long admired and respected.
Juliana Kanyomozi also described her journey as amazing and extended her congratulations to her fellow graduates.
In the same interview , the singer highlighted the importance of embracing their uniqueness and not being afraid of it, as it will be their strength.
She advised her fellow graduates to always maintain professionalism in whatever they do and to perform their tasks to the best of their abilities.
Juliana acknowledged that they may face closed doors along the way, but she encouraged them to view these setbacks as motivation to prove those who doubted them wrong.
The news about Juliana Kanyomozi's graduation was received with excitement from the singer's fans and followers who took to social media and sent out congratulatory wishes to her.
Recall that Juliana Kanyomozi and Dr. Sam are the first notable celebrities to graduate from MNFPAC.
In January 2023, Afro-pop singer Irene Namatovu was rewarded with an honorary certificate in music and dance from the institution.
Singer Irene Namatovu was as well privileged to receive an honorary certificate in music and dance, and she couldn’t contain her excitement through her socials.
"Am so delighted to have been among the few artists who were awarded a certificate as an outstanding musician who has greatly contributed to the music industry in Uganda by the Films and arts performing center which is led by Omumbeja Mariam Ndagire. Thank you so much mama for This Special recognition,"she said after graduation.
Meanwhile, Nowviba joins the rest of Ugandans to congratulate Juliana Kanyomozi and Dr. Sam for the achievement they have added onto their profiles.
