Last Weekend, Gospel musician Gabbie Ntaate staged her famous ‘Cheza for Yesu" concert. For a while, the concert had been massively advertised and the hype was really sky high for this event.
The "Cheza for Yesu” concert was held at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel on Friday. The venue was not only huge but exquisite as well. Need I mention the stage organization? All in all, the organization was simply splendid. This concert however received a lot of mixed reactions afterwards, with some observers calling it a flop while others argued that it was a huge success.
The event was majorly bashed by online media entities as they captured a number of empty seats way into wee hours of the concert. They insinuated that Gabbie Ntaate had not received the massive turn up she was expecting to get, considering the hype that was online as she advertised her concert.
Gabbie Ntaate was also ambushed by various online media entities who were harsh on her while condemning her of turning down their interview requests.
A few argued that this happened because Gabbie Ntaate stressed that she did not want any secular musicians performing on her stage, which made revelers boycott her concert. A few others however claimed that the show was simply expensive and many people failed to afford it hence the low turn up.
One of the few people that criticized Ntaate for cutting off secular musicians from her concert was events promoter Bajjo. He stated that these are the people that would have supported Ntaate the most but yet she cut them out of the picture. Bajjo further stated that Ntaate had ruined her career by so doing because no one will ever want to work with her onwards.
Musician Spice Diana has come out and shown her support for the gospel artiste, mentioning that Gabbie should not be fazed considering what everyone is saying about her concert flopping. While speaking to Sanyuka TV, she also stated that she attended the concert and it was not as bad as people insinuate.
“These things happen as you know. When you do a show, it is for your people. The ones that come, those are your people. They are the ones that support you. I was there by the way. I came at around 9 pm and stayed to the end. I was in the VIP section and looked around and there were people. It was not that bad,” she said.
